The hidden toxins in your garden and how to avoid them

Gardening is a beloved hobby for many, providing relaxation and a sense of accomplishment. But did you know that some common gardening products could be doing more harm than good?

While preparing for my vegetable garden this year, I was advised to avoid certain pesticides and fertilizers. This led me down a rabbit hole of information about all the harmful chemicals in these products that can disrupt our health and the environment. When I checked my shed, I found several items containing ingredients I now know to avoid. Chemicals like glyphosate are particularly concerning, as they have been linked to cancer and other health issues.

Fortunately, there are safer alternatives available. Organic and natural products are not only effective but also safe for you and the environment. I’ve switched to using compost and natural pest deterrents, and my garden has never looked better. I hope this encourages you to investigate what you’re using in your garden and consider making safer choices.

Another thing to consider is the impact of these chemicals on beneficial insects like bees and butterflies. These creatures are essential for pollination but are often harmed by conventional gardening products. Supporting them by using safe alternatives is another great reason to make a change. Happy gardening!
